HOW STARGLASS WORKS

From question to source-backed Living Case.

Aculeus makes Starglass, the collaborative research agent that helps teams investigate questions, work with source material and structured data, and carry important findings into source-backed Living Cases.

Bring a question, paste context, or attach files. Choose the speed. Deep Research pauses for your Case Plan before it starts. The result stays open as a Living Case you can question and deepen.

01Start

Choose Quick Answer or Deep Research.

Both begin with the same question and material. You decide whether you need a cited response now or a planned research pass that becomes a Living Case.

01Get a cited answer now.QUICK ANSWER
Use Quick Answer for a focused response you can keep discussing. It does not create a Case automatically.
02Turn the question into a Case Plan.DEEP RESEARCH
Starglass keeps the full conversation and attached files together, then drafts an editable Case Plan before research starts.
3 STATES · Question + material → Case Plan → Living Case
  1. 01Question + materialSTART
Choose Quick Answer or Deep Research. Deep Research keeps the question and attached files together in the composer.
  2. 02Case PlanSHAPE
Review the editable Case Plan, amend it in chat, then choose Start research. Nothing runs before that decision.
  3. 03Living CaseCONTINUE
The finished Case keeps cited source links, the conversation, follow-up questions, and controls to add research.
ALTERNATE ENTRY · DATA WORKBENCH

Structured data enters the same Starglass workbench.

Start a shared, workspace-scoped Data Project. Ask Starglass a question or run a deterministic check, then keep the useful finding with the project team. This is a second Starglass entry lane, not a fourth sequential Case stage.

01Ask or checkAsk Starglass about counts, missingness, duplicates, or a comparison, or choose a deterministic check with explicit inputs.
02Inspect and collaborateInspect the result, then save, share, and comment on a finding inside the shared Data Project.
  • BOUNDARYPrivate rows, useful shared findings.Raw rows stay private. Starglass sees bounded schema profiles and computed aggregates, not raw rows, filenames, or private object URLs.
  • HANDOFFOptional Deep Research. You can optionally carry a material finding into an editable Deep Research Case Plan. Nothing auto-starts, and many data findings stay useful without becoming Cases.
02Case Plan

Deep Research pauses at the plan.

Starglass turns the conversation and files into an editable Case Plan. Review it, amend it in chat, then choose Start research. No research pass starts before that decision.

03Living Case

The answer, sources, and thread stay together.

Completed Deep Research lands in a source-backed Living Case. It is not a one-time answer or a finished file: the cited links, current conversation, and open questions remain available as the work grows.

01Source-backed answerThe completed research result stays readable in the Case.
02Cited source linksOpen the sources that support the answer instead of losing the trail.
03ConversationThe question, planning conversation, and follow-up thread stay together.
04Open questionsUnresolved points remain visible instead of being smoothed into certainty.
04Continue

Keep asking. Add research when you need it.

Ask a follow-up from the current source set, or prepare another source-backed pass for a new angle or an update. The next pass folds into the same Living Case instead of starting a disconnected file.

  1. 01Ask a follow-upQuestion the current Case and keep the conversation moving.
  2. 02Research a new anglePrepare another editable plan for a new source-backed pass.
  3. 03Check for updatesRevisit the subject with a focused follow-up pass.
