ABOUT · THE MASTHEAD

Built by people who have had to stand behind the work.

Aculeus is the company. Starglass is the collaborative research agent we are building to help people and teams investigate consequential questions, work with source material or structured data, and carry important findings into source-backed Living Cases without losing the source trail or their own judgment.

Aculeus makes Starglass, the collaborative research agent that helps teams investigate questions, work with source material and structured data, and carry important findings into source-backed Living Cases.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Why we built a research agent that shows its work.

We built Aculeus because we have had to stand behind consequential work in public — not just build a tool, but answer for what it says. In business, in politics, and in print, the rule is the same: source it, or don't say it.

A fluent answer is not proof. A model can sound right and be wrong, and sounding right is exactly the failure we could not afford. So we built Starglass to keep the question, material, plan, sources, and open threads connected. A Living Case should preserve an open question rather than hand anyone a confident sentence it cannot back.

There is a second way into the same workbench. Start a shared, workspace-scoped Data Project. Ask Starglass a question or run a deterministic check, then keep the useful finding with the project team. Inspect the result, then save, share, and comment on a finding inside the shared Data Project. You can optionally carry a material finding into an editable Deep Research Case Plan. Nothing auto-starts, and many data findings stay useful without becoming Cases.

The promise is short enough to hold us to it: Data in. Intelligence out. Bring the question and material, choose Quick Answer or Deep Research, review the Case Plan before research begins, and keep working from the source-backed Living Case. Or start with structured data in a shared Data Project and carry a finding into the same plan when it is useful.

And the door is still a person. Every access request is read and decided by the operator of record. Bring us a question or dataset, and a human answers.
